The Youth Sport Trust want to work with schools to help shape Well Schools. The purpose of the movement is to support schools to drive improvements in wellbeing for all teachers, senior leaders and young people by placing wellbeing at the very heart of schools.
It isn’t a programme, quality mark or intervention, it is simply an opportunity for schools across the country to come together to drive change, share challenges and solutions and collectively navigate all of the support that is already available.
Currently there are 32 founding schools that are working to bring “Well Schools” to life and although the platform will not be available until September 2020, all schools can register (for free) an interest in being linked to the Movement here:
Schools that register will then be connected to the work currently being undertaken by the founding schools.

Additionally, following the announcement of school closures due to COVID-19, the Youth Sport Trust has been developing new ways to support children and families to stay active during lockdown. The activities, resources and videos have been vital to support physical, social and emotional wellbeing during this difficult time and have been made available free of charge. To find out what is available for both schools and parents/carers visit:
Some useful guidance material is also included on the implications for delivering PE and sport with the current social distancing restrictions in place.
