Congratulations to Meldreth Primary School for achieving the Healthy Schools Award and demonstrating a strong, whole school commitment to health, wellbeing and resilience. Student voice plays a central role in shaping school life, with feedback directly leading to improvements such as a weekly Playground Disco, a quiet reading area and a buddy bench to promote inclusive and supportive playtimes.
Mental health leadership is clearly established with targeted support including ELSA, Drawing and Talking and music therapy helping students develop emotional regulation and confidence. Physical activity is embedded across the school day through Daily Mile, structured coaching, residential visits and a broad extra curricular offer. Junior Travel Ambassadors have even contributed to safer active travel routes in the local area.
Through strong family engagement, progressive food education and a responsive approach to neurodiversity through the PINS project, Meldreth Primary School has created a positive and inclusive environment where students feel listened to, supported and encouraged to develop healthy habits for life.
