Congratulations to Fulbourn Primary School for embedding a whole school approach to health, wellbeing and resilience, guided by the values of compassion, curiosity, courage and creativity. Student voice is a real strength, with young people leading through buddy roles, ambassador positions and the wellbeing, curriculum and environment committees. The Dreams Phase also gives children a direct role in shaping the school’s future priorities.
Wellbeing is woven through the curriculum with programmes such as Know Yourself, Grow Yourself, Picture News and Candle Times helping children understand their emotions, relationships and personal development. Strong pastoral systems every child knows how to seek help when needed. Physical activity is promoted through OPAL play, loose parts, sports coaching, ActivAll boards, forest school and a wide range of clubs, making activity inclusive and enjoyable for all. Food education is brought to life through seasonal cooking projects, DT lessons, Healthy Lifestyles Week and the ecology curriculum alongside campaigns like Eat Them to Defeat Them and Beat the Bean.
Fulbourn demonstrates a clear commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion through curriculum development, accessible spaces, SEND inclusive practice and positive community partnerships. Families are engaged through coffee mornings, workshops and clear signposting to trusted wellbeing services.
Fulbourn Primary School is a warm and forward thinking community where students, staff and families work together to help every child thrive. The school should be extremely proud of achieving the Healthy Schools Award.
