The Mind your Head programme is a six-week mental health education programme designed for Year 8/9 students (aged 12-14). During the programme we deliver six classroom-based sessions each lasting 50 minutes, covering the topics of:

  • An Introduction to Mental Health, Wellbeing & Resilience
  • Recognising Signs of Mental Health Concerns
  • The Benefits of Talking
  • The Impact of Social Media on Wellbeing
  • Coping with Stress
  • Collaboration & Community

We aim to increase mental health literacy within this age range, encourage positive conversations between young people to de-stigmatise mental health, and to provide young people with strategies to develop their own resilience.

Following an evaluation from Leeds Beckett University – Carnegie School of Education the programme was found to have a significant impact on the mental health literacy of young people engaged with the programme, and has since been cited in a parliamentary report as an example of good practice. The Evaluation Report can be found at: tiny.cc/cuct-myh-evaluationreport.

The Mind your Head programme is FREE to all Cambridgeshire state schools.
