‘Being new to the role, I have learnt so much more about how the school approaches food, celebrates food and manages food production. I think we are unique in the fact that we have an allotment onsite with fruit and vegetables which we grow and eat, and that the children can observe and learn from. I have a much clearer idea of how we have and how we can continue to engage both children and parents with healthy eating. Food waste is monitored well and I think we approach initiatives like ‘meat free Monday’ positively and with an open mind. I look forward to doing more with Healthy Schools in the future.’
