Foxton Primary School

Congratulations to Foxton Primary School on achieving the Healthy Schools Award and demonstrating a strong commitment to supporting the health, wellbeing and resilience of its students and staff.

As a small village school, Foxton places particular importance on positive relationships, inclusion and ensuring that every child has opportunities to contribute to school life.

The school uses mixed age Buddy Groups, which bring children together from Reception to Year 6. These groups provide opportunities for children to help shape decisions about the school environment, including the selection of new playground equipment and the development of the vegetable and sensory garden.

The school has also made excellent use of its outdoor spaces, creating opportunities for children to be active, explore nature and develop practical skills. Students have been involved in growing, harvesting and trying their own vegetables, helping them develop a greater understanding of healthy eating and sustainability.

Emotional wellbeing is another important part of school life with a range of support available to children, including opportunities to speak with trusted adults, therapeutic interventions and quiet spaces.

Foxton also demonstrates a commitment to staff wellbeing, having made practical changes following feedback from its staff survey.

Through its caring school culture, strong community relationships and commitment to listening to students and staff, Foxton Primary School provides a positive environment where children are encouraged to be kind, respectful and the best they can be.
