Dhiverse is a small charity with a big remit and the desire to reach and support more people.
We’re a registered charity and company limited by guarantee; trustees are also directors.
We provide education, training, counselling, support and information around sexual health, relationships and sex, and related issues. Our services are primarily for young people and adults in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. We can also provide online services for anyone who doesn’t live in these areas, but there is generally a charge.
We are currently looking for people age 16+ to join our Board, and welcome applications from young people. You will have an interest in and understand the importance of good sexual health and wellbeing and positive and consensual relationships. In addition, it would be great if you have skills, knowledge and/or experience in at least one of the following areas: Learning disabilities/autism; Harmful Sexual Behaviours; Domestic/Sexual Abuse; Young People; Youth Offending; Fundraising; Marketing and Communications; HR, but we will consider anyone who would like to join our Board for the right reasons.
Our Board meet four times per year and for our AGM. Board meetings are generally around 1.5 to 2 hours and are usually held early evening, mid-week. Most meetings are held virtually to encourage applicants who do not live locally; however, trustees should be able to get to Cambridge if the need arises. Trustees must be able to communicate by phone, email and online in between meetings. The role is unpaid but out of pocket expenses can be reimbursed. In line with our safe recruitment practice we will need two satisfactory references and a relevant DBS check.
