Cambridgeshire Music Arts Therapy Service

The arts can play a vital role in helping people engage through using a non- verbal medium; supporting people to connect, engage and access change in a creative way. Therapy goals are about relating rather than developing a skill using a creative discipline to foster wellbeing for those who may struggle to access traditional talking therapies.

Why Arts Therapy?

  • Arts therapists provide therapeutic support for groups, couples,
  • individuals and families with medium – high need
  • Arts therapies are useful for people with complex needs who can’t currently access help using traditional talking therapies e.g. ASD, ADHD, EBD, trauma, bereavement, learning and communication difficulties, attachment disorders and adult mental health
  • Arts therapies can be particularly helpful for people who are non-verbal or have verbal communication difficulties
  • Arts therapies can aid motivation to engage
