A Food Smart accreditation logo has been designed by PECT to recognise the achievements of the schools that have fulfilled the assessment criteria for the bronze level of the Food Smart accreditation scheme.
Schools on the pathway to achieving Healthy Schools status have recently suggested that it would be helpful to be able to communicate to parents and the wider community their commitment to complying with the School Food Standards, introducing healthy eating initiatives and improving the delivery of food education. The use of a logo in conjunction with being awarded a certificate was considered a popular option.
Currently 47 schools have signed up to and are participating in the Food Smart scheme which is being co-ordinated by PECT – Peterborough Environment City Trust.
The following schools, however, have achieved the standards for the bronze level and will therefore be receiving the accreditation logo to be used as they so choose to promote their achievement:
The Beeches Primary School
Nene Valley Primary School
Guyhirn Primary School
Cavalry Primary School
Thongsley Fields Primary School
